The path to energy-efficient and carbon-neutral airports

Airports are central mobility hubs within a connected world – be it for the global transport of goods, business trips or tourism. And even though the aviation industry is currently in significant decline due to the spread of COVID-19, demand will rise again – as will responsibility for climate action.

Using targeted measures, it is possible to achieve significantly more energy-efficient and carbon-neutral airport operations. These measures range from the recycling of waste through to the digitalisation and automation of the vehicle fleet on the apron.
