Standpoint: Financing for the export industry

Dr. Axel Radü, Head of Strategie and Communications at KfW IPEX-Bank

"We want to be a leading export and project financier in order to fulfil our role in and for KfW Group and to support the German and European export industry."

KfW IPEX-Bank is a 100% subsidiary of KfW and focused on providing financing to German and European companies doing business and making investments all over the world. As a specialist financier, the bank offers medium and long-term financing for the key export industries. These include mechanical engineering, the automotive industry, and electrical engineering as well as economic and social infrastructure projects and projects aimed at protecting the environment and the climate or securing the raw materials supply. KfW IPEX-Bank is also a strong partner in ship finance, among others.

In an interview with Nachrichten für Außenhandel, a German daily specialised in foreign trade, Dr Axel Radü, Head of Corporate Strategy, gives insights into the philosophy and approach applied by the bank, whose business operations have an international remit. "The main point is that we have been in this business for a long time and started in export finance 60 years ago. It's what we do, it's what we know!" said Dr Radü in the interview.
