Automotive industry

We finance investments in the automotive industry – both those made in research and development and those made in production facilities involving German exporters.

Financing case Ford Otosan: Modernising an automotive plant in Turkey

One example of this kind of export finance is a EUR 60 million loan provided to Ford Otomotiv Sanayi (Ford Otosan). To modernise its automotive plant in Kocaeli, Turkey, Ford Otosan is installing a new final assembly line and a turnkey paint shop from German manufacturer Dürr Systems GmbH, a long-standing business partner of KfW IPEX-Bank. Ford Otosan is a joint venture between the Ford Group and the Turkey-based Koc Group.

The second-largest industrial company in Turkey

The project focuses on expanding the product range to include the Transit Courier minivan. Its research and development facilities and own production site mean that Ford Otosan has established itself as a centre of excellence for commercial vehicles within the Ford Group. What is now Turkey's second-largest industrial company manufactures not only the Ford Transit line and heavy goods vehicles, but also engines and transmissions.
