In addition to the sector-oriented market divisions that handle the extensive financing tasks undertaken in the German and European export industries, the "Products and corporate affairs" segment is responsible for a great deal of activities, without which the bank's successful work would be simply unthinkable.

Our job is to support the management team in developing and implementing the business strategy, as well as in company management, planning and external and internal communication activities.

We are responsible for undertaking press and PR work, analysing and evaluating business figures and developing and implementing measures related to the business strategy. We also act as the business policy interface for KfW Group's development.

We offer the credit departments tailored support for KfW IPEX-Bank's financing products.

Our advisory services cover everything from credit insurance (ECAs and PRIs), CIRR loans, advice on promotional funds and purchasing receivables to special guarantees. Moreover, we support the bank's product catalogue and are involved in the process of introducing new credit products and the relevant steering committee.

The Financial Modelling team offers extensive and practical support to the market divisions in the structuring and credit processes. The services we offer range from internal advice with respect to optimising the financing structure to taking on the role of an external modelling agent.

Our job is to provide consultancy services for issues that fall under regulatory and company law and to support and manage all the topics and processes relating to HR policies.

Our Legal team is responsible for all issues relating to bank regulatory law as well as KfW IPEX-Bank's rules and regulations. We are the central contact for the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, the German Central Bank and international regulatory authorities. We also support the bank's supervisory bodies.

The Compliance department acts as a consultant in issues of securities compliance, prevention of money laundering and terrorism as well as fraud and corruption prevention.

The HR team is also the first port of call with respect to supporting the Management Board and executive staff in all issues relating to HR policies, recruitment and HR marketing. We are the initial contact for all employees if they have any questions about staff development and form the interface to the KfW Group.

We coordinate the entire project portfolio and the IT requirements, plus act as a contact for all of KfW IPEX-Bank's IT projects. We support the specialist departments in their professional IT tasks, in organisation and process management and are responsible for documentation standards. We also coordinate and monitor the outsourcing of services and are the contact for any procurement operations undertaken via KfW.

Mastering exciting and challenging tasks together as a team

I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers and Excel: after completing my studies in Economics, I started my career at an auditing and business consultancy in the Financial Services department. Here, I was able to get to know KfW as a Group as well as KfW IPEX-Bank and its employees through several assignments. The company culture and the employees' sociability in particular appealed to me right from the start! A few years later, I decided to join KfW myself.

After my first job in accounting at KfW, I moved to the Financial Modelling team at KfW IPEX-Bank. The simple change within the Group and the strong team spirit – both with my colleagues and my managers – meant that I was quickly able to familiarise myself with my role at KfW IPEX-Bank and my new professional challenges.

In the Financial Modelling team, we help the sector departments to structure individual financing solutions. To do this, we create tailored cash flow models and analyse externally created financial models in accordance with international best practice standards. These models can be used to verify the assumptions of the transaction and test resilience through various sensitivity analyses. The challenge here is to always maintain an overview of the models and identify opportunities as well as risks.

I find the varied nature of the transactions I am involved with particularly exciting. These range from a wind farm in Finland to a wastewater treatment plant in Saudi Arabia, for example. I am always able to work closely with the sector departments. Even when we are under time pressure, there is always a pleasant working atmosphere and everybody always works well as a team.
