In addition to the sector-oriented market divisions that handle the extensive financing tasks undertaken in the German and European export industries, the "Products and corporate affairs" segment is responsible for a great deal of activities, without which the bank's successful work would be simply unthinkable.
Experts from the fields of credit management and auditing, corporate strategists, talented communicators, lawyers, HR professionals, IT specialists and talented organisers are guaranteed to find the perfect place to put their expertise to ideal use.
Our job is to support the management team in developing and implementing the business strategy, as well as in company management, planning and external and internal communication activities.
We are responsible for undertaking press and PR work, analysing and evaluating business figures and developing and implementing measures related to the business strategy. We also act as the business policy interface for the KfW Group's development.
We provide independent and objective auditing and advisory services focused on safeguarding and improving business processes. We support the bank in achieving its goals by taking a systematic and targeted approach to help evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of risk management, checks and management and monitoring processes.
We offer the credit departments tailored support for KfW IPEX-Bank's financing products.
Our advisory services cover everything from credit insurance (ECAs and PRIs), CIRR loans, advice on promotional funds and purchasing receivables to special guarantees. Moreover, we support the bank's product catalogue and are involved in the NPP for credit products and the NPP steering committee.
The Financial Modelling team offers extensive and practical support to the market divisions in the structuring and credit processes. The services we offer range from internal advice with respect to optimising the financing structure to taking on the role of an external modelling agent.
Our job is to provide consultancy services for issues that fall under regulatory and company law and to support and manage all the topics and processes relating to HR policies.
Our Legal team is responsible for all issues relating to bank regulatory law as well as KfW IPEX-Bank's rules and regulations. We are the central contact for the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, the German Central Bank and international regulatory authorities. We also support the bank's supervisory bodies.
The Compliance team acts as a consultant in issues of securities compliance, prevention of money laundering and terrorism as well as fraud and corruption prevention.
The HR team is also the first port of call with respect to supporting the Management Board and executive staff in all issues relating to HR policies, recruitment and HR marketing. We are the initial contact for all employees if they have any questions about staff development and form the interface to the KfW Group.
Our field of activity involves loan management for the entire credit portfolio of KfW IPEX-Bank and taking on special roles within the bank.
We are experts in forming credit structures, formulating contractual clauses on credit administration and setting up arranger mandates. We design our receivables management processes in a competent and client-focused fashion.
We coordinate the entire project portfolio and the IT requirements, plus act as a contact for all of KfW IPEX-Bank's IT projects. We support the specialist departments in their professional IT tasks, in organisation and process management and are responsible for documentation standards. We also coordinate and monitor the outsourcing of services and are the contact for any procurement operations undertaken via KfW.
I've always enjoyed working with numbers and large quantities of data. As an industrial engineer specialising in financial mathematics, I initially spent a few years working as a trader and quantitative portfolio manager at one of the largest asset management firms. I then joined KfW, spending three years managing customers' greenhouse gas emission trading portfolios in the Carbon Fund, before switching from KfW to KfW IPEX-Bank, and more specifically to the Financial Modelling team, in November 2013.
KfW IPEX-Bank finances international projects and exports (in European economic and social infrastructure, raw material supplies or environmental and climate protection projects, for instance) to support the German and European economies.
In the Financial Modelling team, we help our colleagues in the individual sector-related divisions to structure individual financing solutions. To this end, we create tailored cash flow models or analyse financial models that have been created externally in line with international best practice standards. Using these models, we can check the assumptions used in transactions and test how resilient they are. The challenging aspects of this work are keeping an overview of complex models and identifying opportunities and risks. Even when under pressure, we want our colleagues to provide top-quality advice. It's exciting when you're able to follow in detail transactions that have been made in different sectors and countries – whether it's the financing of a motorway in Spain or an offshore wind farm off the coast of Belgium.
Since I switched posts internally, starting at KfW IPEX-Bank was virtually seamless for me. I love how diverse the employees are and value the combination of professional conduct and helpful cooperation – just like I did when I was with KfW. "Fantastic" is probably the only way to describe KfW IPEX-Bank's efforts to help its employees achieve a good work-life balance. It's even simple to switch between the different divisions within the Group, so you're sure to encounter plenty of interesting tasks during the course of your career – whatever your route up the career ladder.
If you're looking for exciting and challenging tasks, pleasant colleagues and great working conditions, then KfW IPEX-Bank is perfect for you.
Before I joined KfW IPEX-Bank, I had come to know and appreciate this institute as a very proficient and reliable financing partner during my job in export and project finance at a major German bank. So, my expectations not only of the professional challenge but also of the corporate culture and social competence were high. After one year, I can say these have been met. Specifically, I enjoy working with specialists from the relevant sector departments and Legal Affairs to help export-oriented medium-sized companies in their internationalisation efforts.
I am very pleased to have joined the team of specialists at KfW IPEX-Bank as a product advisor for ECA credit insurance and export financing and to have received all the support I’ve been given. The range of tasks that this team carries out is impressive and I find the field as a whole very interesting. I mainly work as a contact/advisor for market departments in all aspects of credit insurance.
KfW IPEX-Bank made it easy for me to find my feet and settle into what is a new environment for me fairly quickly. I was helped not only by the incredibly informative induction event "A tour of KfW IPEX-Bank", but also particularly by the regular and intensive professional exchanges with my knowledgeable colleagues and managers, as well as their extraordinary willingness at all times to answer the various questions that new employees have.
My team and KfW IPEX-Bank as a whole placed a lot of trust in me right from the start, which delighted and motivated me. This was demonstrated, for example, by the fact that I was entrusted with responsible tasks very early on, and especially by the fact that after just a few months, given that I am a commuter, I was allowed to work from home on Mondays as long as this did not interfere with internal or external deadlines.
Overall, I feel extremely comfortable at KfW IPEX-Bank, not just professionally, but personally as well, and I particularly appreciate the flat hierarchy of the company.
After completing a banking apprenticeship, two years of work and then a business degree along with trips to Australia, Asia and the United States, my search for a challenging and internationally oriented job led me to KfW IPEX-Bank.
I consciously chose to join via a trainee programme because this allowed for a better overview of the entire organisation and a more in-depth look at the structures of the company. The programme lived up to this perfectly: Over the course of 15 months, I learned about three sector teams within credit management as well as two other areas of KfW IPEX-Bank as part of the Credit Operations trainee programme. I was also given the opportunity to work in four teams within KfW, which gave me a better insight into KfW as a parent company.
All my trainee assignments involved structured training, challenging tasks and excellent support. I am also benefiting from the valuable experience I gained over these 15 months in my current day-to-day work. For example, I already have many contacts in most of the areas I deal with and I am also familiar with the basic structures and work processes there.
At the end of my trainee programme, I was hired as a receivables manager in Credit Operations, where I am responsible for the credit management of a portfolio in the Transport and Social Infrastructure sector.
What I particularly appreciate about KfW IPEX-Bank is the fact that the work environment is shaped by mutual appreciation across all levels of the hierarchy, and the specifics of the export and project financing business constantly present new challenges. I also enjoy my work because I have colleagues who are great fun and very friendly.
