Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure has reached successful syndication, following the signing of the credit agreement in January 2026, for Skyview 2 Battery Energy Storage Project in Canada.

During syndication, DZ Bank, KDB and Nippon Life have joined the transaction to form a strong bank group for this project. KfW IPEX-Bank acted as Joint Lead Arranger, sole Bookrunner and Underwriter for the CAD 542mn project. Desjardins Group acted as Administrative Agent, Collateral Agent, Joint Lead Arranger and Senior Lender. Blake, Cassels & Graydon has been acting as Legal Advisor on the transaction.

The Skyview 2 Battery Energy Storage Project is located in the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal, Ontario. The Project is a lithium-ion battery energy storage facility sized to provide up to 411 MW / 1,560 MWh. Once completed, Skyview 2 is expected to be Canada’s largest battery energy storage project.

“Once more, we had the pleasure to support our long-standing client Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure”, says Velibor Marjanovic, Member of the Management Board of KfW IPEX-Bank. “We are delighted that our arranging expertise has enabled us to contribute to the realisation of the largest BESS project in Canada and to secure the participation of very reputable institutions in the banking club.”

Pierre-Olivier Perras, Managing Partner of Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure, said: “Once operational, Skyview 2 will be the largest BESS project in Canada, delivering reliable energy to Ontario when the province needs it most. We're proud to reach this milestone alongside our First Nation partners and colleagues at KfW IPEX-Bank.”

This marks the 5th successful collaboration between KfW IPEX-Bank and Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure, which has previously financed several wind, PV and BESS projects.
