Press Release from 2026-10-30 / KfW IPEX-Bank

KfW IPEX-Bank supports Neoen in expanding renewable energy in Australia

Landscape with wind turbines
  • Financing of a portfolio of solar, wind and battery projects
  • In total five projects in three Australian states

KfW IPEX-Bank is taking a leading role providing AUD 125 million as part of an Asian Term Loan in another large portfolio financing for the energy transition in Australia.

Together with an international banking consortium, it is financing the portfolio, developed by Neoen, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, with a total volume of around AUD 1.8 billion.

"By financing this portfolio, we are supporting our long-standing client Neoen in building one of Australia’s most technologically diverse renewable energy portfolios," said Dr Velibor Marjanovic, member of KfW IPEX Bank’s Management Board. "The combination of large-scale solar, wind energy and battery storage not only contributes to CO₂ reduction, but also increases the stability of the electricity grids in a dynamic market environment."

With around 1.2 GW of generating capacity from five projects, the financing makes a substantial contribution to decarbonising Australia’s power sector. The portfolio also draws on European expertise, with Italian, French and Spanish companies among its suppliers and contractors.
