“This rotation reflects our forward-looking approach to human resources management and serves to broaden our portfolio of expertise,” comments Belgin Rudack, CEO of KfW IPEX-Bank. “It’s about generating fresh momentum: the heads of department are bringing the expertise they have acquired in other segments to fields of activity that are new to them, thereby injecting fresh ideas and new momentum into the increasingly competitive export and project finance business.”

The three departments are among the bank’s key areas:

  • In the 2025 financial year, the Energy department contributed EUR 6.7 billion – more than a quarter – to the total volume of new commitments of EUR 24.2 billion.
  • As a back-office unit, Credit Risk Management assesses counterparty and sector risks, as well as transaction-specific aspects of the Bank’s business, in an independent and forward-looking manner. In doing so, it contributes to securing the Bank’s long-term success.
  • Structuring Advisory provides both internal and external advice on the structuring of export and project finance, as well as the usage of promotional loan programmes. In addition, the department’s remit includes acting as an agent in syndicated financing arrangements.
