    Progress report 2025 | 2026:

Supporting the export industry with a fair approach

When providing the export industry with support that is fair and based on partnership, international competition and future viability are of utmost importance: KfW IPEX-Bank structures bespoke medium- and long-term financing arrangements to help German and European exporters develop their access to global markets, thereby helping them to boost their international presence. As part of this work, it often works with other financial institutions, export credit insurance companies and international partners to deliver demanding projects in challenging markets. Through this international support, it helps to secure competitiveness, growth and employment in the export sector.

    Progress in practice

“Shopping Line” project for exports from Austria

Supporting cross-border export activities remains an important aspect of European economic cooperation and international financing strategy. With this objective in mind, KfW IPEX-Bank is making EUR 200 million available to Türk Eximbank as part of a long-term loan facility to support Austrian exports to Turkey - thereby also promoting auxiliary supplies from other European countries.

European cooperation between export credit insurers - OeKB as a driver of guarantees?

Cover from the Austrian export credit insurance company OeKB means that risk is shared and increases confidence in financing - a good example of cross-border financial and insurance partnerships in Europe.

Promotion of economic integration & stability

In light of global uncertainties, this commitment by KfW IPEX-Bank highlights its ambition to stabilise European economic streams and provide sustainable support for export and trade landscapes – particularly for smaller exporters and auxiliary suppliers.

    Staying on course together

“In recent years, Turkey has emerged as an important market for the Austrian export industry and thus for OeKB as well. Given its dynamic development, it continues to offer a great deal of potential. At the beginning of 2021, we concluded a cooperation agreement with Türk Eximbank with the aim of providing Austrian auxiliary suppliers with more business opportunities with general contractors from Turkey. I am therefore very pleased that we are now taking another important step forwards together with this innovative shopping line. With this line, we can also provide easier access to a growing market for small and medium-sized enterprises, and we have already had a very positive experience with this in numerous countries."

Helmut Bernkopf, member of the OeKB Executive Board responsible for Export Services

"We are pleased to announce that Türk Eximbank, the only official export credit agency in Turkey, has received a 10-year financing facility of EUR 200 million from KfW IPEX-Bank with insurance provided by the official Austrian export credit agency OeKB. By providing strong financial support to our exporters over the long term, we are expecting to make a significant contribution to the development of trade relations between Turkey and Austria."
