    Progress in practice

Electromobility as the key to climate-friendly infrastructure and sustainable competitiveness

In the context of the global transport revolution, the development of effective charging infrastructure for electric vehicles is becoming increasingly important in order to reduce CO₂ emissions in the mobility sector on a sustainable basis. Against this background, the promotion of the IONITY network infrastructure by KfW IPEX-Bank makes an important contribution to accelerating electromobility in Europe, as it facilitates the use of all-electric vehicles, thus replacing fossil fuels in the long term. By expanding ultra-fast charging points operated with 100% renewable energy, this project not only supports market-based development, but also makes a measurable contribution to climate and environmental protection by laying the foundations for emission-free mobility.

The financing covers charging stations in several countries (e.g. Germany, France, Sweden, UK). This creates a cross-border, multi-brand rapid charging network - essential for everyday life and long-distance travel with electric cars.
