We finance investments in the automotive industry – both those made in research and development and those made in production facilities involving German and European exporters.
With VinFast Vietnam is building its first own automative brand. Starting in mid-2019 three cars as well as three e-bike and three electric scooter models will be brought onto the domestic market in an initial production stage.
Auto manufacturers and automotive suppliers from Germany and Europe will supply the new production facility in Hai Phong with machines and equipment. These include, among others: Dürr (paint shop), ABB Germany (robots), Siemens (connecting the facility), mechanical engineering firm Schuler (press shop), Eisenmann (general assembly and finishing line) and Grob (engine shop).
With its financing KfW IPEX-Bank contributes to supporting the German and European export industry, which is tapping into the Vietnamese market through its involvement in this project and may use Vietnam as a stepping stone to reach out to other markets. What is more, KfW IPEX-Bank is helping e-mobility to spread further throughout the world.
