KfW IPEX-Bank participates in PPP financing for A16 in the Netherlands

Together with other German and international banks, KfW IPEX-Bank is providing around EUR 900 million for the extension of the Dutch A16 motorway near Rotterdam. The infrastructure project is structured as a public private partnership (PPP) and the borrower is De Groene Boog, a consortium comprising BESIX, Dura Vermeer, Van Oord, John Laing Investments, Rebel and TBI (Mobilis, CroonWolter&Dros).

The project includes the construction of a 11 km new section of the A16 north-east of Rotterdam as well as operation and maintenance over a subsequent period of 20 years.

The new section will connect the A13 (north-east of Rotterdam) with the A20 (at Terbregseplein). The aim is to ease traffic congestion on both motorways, to reduce the volume of traffic on local connecting roads and to improve access to the city centre of Rotterdam. This will increase the quality of life of local residents.

With this financing KfW IPEX-Bank is supporting the expansion of transport infrastructure and a project in the interest of the European community.
