KfW IPEX-Bank finances the onshore wind farm Hedet in Finland
KfW IPEX-Bank is involved in the financing of the 81 MW onshore wind farm Hedet in western Finland. The total investment volume is around EUR 89 million, with KfW IPEX-Bank contributing a total of around EUR 33 million.
In addition to the project and export financier of the KfW Group, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) is also involved in the financing. The onshore wind farm is sponsored by the French company Neoen and Prokon Finland, a subsidiary of Prokon Regenerative Energien eG, the largest renewable energy cooperative in Germany.
The wind farm will feature 18 wind turbine generators of type N149/4.0-4.5 from the German manufacturer Nordex. The electricity produced will be purchased under a 10-year PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) by Tuike Finland, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Google LLC, which will use the electricity to operate a local data centre.
With this financing, KfW IPEX-Bank supports the export of German technology and makes an important contribution to climate and environmental protection.
