The Dutch shipping company Anthony Veder (AV) received financing from KfW IPEX-Bank to purchase two multipurpose gas tankers. Both vessels are used for seaborne transport of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquefied Ethylene Gas (LEG). The total financing of USD 35 million has a term of 10 years.

The project is a further building block to a more sustainable maritime industry. Through the expansion of the LNG infrastructure network the financing contributes to lowering gas emissions harmful to the climate.

With the two tankers, each with a capacity of 10,000m³, AV is expanding its fleet to 33 ships. More than that AV is strengthening its leadership position in small LNG carriers. With eight small LNG carriers, the company is supporting the distribution of LNG for energy supply and is continuing its strategy of further increasing the use of LNG as an alternative fuel to high sulphure marine gas oil.

Anthony Veder will assume responsibility for both the commercial and technical management of the ships scheduled to be available in the second quarter. The two gas tankers previously belonged to the Skaugen fleet and are renamed "Coral Favia" and "Coral Fungia".

Founded in 1937, the Anthony Veder shipping company has been active in the gas tanker segment since 1969 and transports LNG, LPG and petrochemical gasses with its ships. The Rotterdam-based group has more than 1,000 employees.
