KfW IPEX-Bank is financing the development and expansion of broadband infrastructure in the greater Cologne/Bonn area by the telecommunications company NetCologne. KfW IPEX-Bank is a long-time partner of the Cologne-based company. The financing totalling EUR 45 million includes funds from the KfW promotional programme 'Municipal and Social Enterprises'. NetCologne is a regional network provider for telephony, TV, Internet and data services for both retail and corporate customers in the Cologne/Bonn area. In the course of the current and ongoing network expansion, NetCologne will ensure that nearly all school buildings, additional private households and commercial businesses are connected.
