Sana Kliniken is adding a residential building for staff to its Biberach/Baden-Württemberg site that meets the KfW Efficiency House 40 standard. KfW IPEX-Bank is providing a total of EUR 7.56 million for the construction of the building in the form of a loan under the KfW promotional programme for "Energy-efficient construction".

KfW IPEX-Bank was previously already involved in the financing of the new hospital building, which provides the surrounding community with high-quality, medical care from a single source. Short communication channels and interdisciplinary cooperation will simplify and accelerate the treatment process in the future, while at the same time creating attractive working conditions for the hospital staff. The new hospital is scheduled to begin operations in September 2021.

With the construction of the 63-unit staff residence, Sana Kliniken completes its overall concept for the newly built hospital site. Compliance with the KfW40 standard means that the employees have high-quality, affordable and sustainable housing close to their workplace. Construction is scheduled to finish in September 2022.

The construction of the new staff residence ideally complements the new and modern central hospital in Biberach, which provides essential social infrastructure for the region.

With its financing, KfW IPEX-Bank is helping Germany’s largest independent healthcare provider – with over 120 facilities (including more than 50 hospitals) – to expand its healthcare system and social infrastructure, while also contributing to environmental and climate protection in Germany.
