KfW IPEX-Bank finances two new Airbus aircraft for Turkish Airlines

On August 16th KfW IPEX-Bank has closed the second of two ECA covered financings for new Airbus A350-900 aircraft for Turkish Airlines. KfW IPEX-Bank acts as sole lender, facility agent and security trustee. This transaction is also a unique one with the loan disbursed in CHF currency which displays Turkish Airlines ability to diversify their borrowing base in line with their balance sheet.

Commenting on the closing of this transaction, Turkish Airlines’ Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Board and the Executive Committee, Assoc. Equipped with the most fuel-efficient engines, the modern Airbus A350-900 wide-body aircraft form part of Turkish Airlines' core long-haul fleet.

Turkish Airlines, the flag carrier of Türkiye, flies to more countries than any other airline and ranks among the ten largest airlines globally. The carrier has recently signed a significant purchase agreement with Airbus for 355 aircraft, positioning Turkish Airlines for one of the largest fleet expansions in the coming years.
