Examples for sustainable financing

KfW IPEX-Bank is the mandated lead arranger, underwriter and bookrunner of large-volume growth financing for the Swiss freight car rental company MFD Rail. The funds will be used to finance up to 6,500 new intermodal railcars, which the company specialises in leasing as a European platform.

KfW IPEX-Bank is providing EUR 100 million to finance new trams for the city of Frankfurt. Stadtwerke Frankfurt shall accept the funds on behalf of its subsidiary Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt (VGF). They are used for the procurement of state-of-the-art trams of the Citadis SX05 series from the manufacturer Alstom, which are operated under the “T”-generation carriage in the VGF vehicle fleet. The new design of these tramcars for Frankfurt were developed in close cooperation by both partners.

KfW IPEX-Bank is providing financing in the amount of EUR 30 million for the German shipping company TT-Line's dual-fuel RoPax ferry “Nils Holgersson”. The ship is one of the most modern and environmentally friendly in its class. With a length of 230 metres, it offers space for 800 passengers and 300 trailers.

KfW IPEX-Bank has arranged the senior debt financing for the construction and operation of the Los Escuderos solar park near the municipality of Altarejos in the Spanish province of Cuenca. KfW IPEX-Bank is contributing around EUR 64 million to the long-term senior debt.
