KfW IPEX-Bank finances Fryslân nearshore wind farm in the Netherlands
KfW IPEX-Bank is participating in the financing of the Fryslân nearshore wind farm in the Netherlands. The project is being implemented in the Frisian section of the IJsselmeer, to the south of the Afsluitdijk and near Breezanddijk. The facilities total around EUR 700 million, with KfW IPEX-Bank contributing approx. EUR 80 million. Nine other banks are involved in the financing.
With a planned capacity of about 383 MW the wind farm will play a key role in climate-friendly energy generation in the province of Friesland. The project consists of 89 SWT-DD-130 type wind turbines from Siemens Gamesa with a capacity of 4.3 MW each and a rotor diameter of 130 metres.
The financing from KfW IPEX-Bank will help ensure a sustainable supply of electricity from renewable sources for the Netherlands and, in this way, will make an important contribution to climate and environmental protection.
