    Success = People = Staff = Success

    2023 was the most successful year in KfW IPEX-Bank’s history. This is thanks to the hard work of 911 employees, each and every one of whom has helped, through their efforts, to give the German and European economies a boost in international markets. We aim high – and that includes our ambition to create a workspace and environment in which all aspirations can be sufficiently realised. Responsibility is the bedrock on which our forward-looking human resources policy is based.

    Our achievements during 2023

    Success and increasing challenges are not mutually exclusive. The world of work has changed exponentially in recent years. We consider it an ongoing duty to identify opportunities and harness them for the benefit of all. Our approach to the job market incorporates new ideas, perspectives and interesting facts:

    • Workspaces of the future: Flexibility in the choice of work location and flexible, collaborative space concepts for on-site working give employees the necessary leeway to organise their working day. We have enshrined this principle in company agreements.
    • Support for junior staff: We see dialogue as a success factor; we put a face to our employer offering at various career fairs and we bring our business to life through guest lectures and workshops at universities. Student trainee jobs, internships and five trainee programmes focusing on different areas offer a way into the world of international project and export finance.
    • Leadership tandems: A team with two managers who each perform their duties on a part-time basis. This is a tried and tested model in our company and reflects our efforts to reconcile career and non-work commitments, including at management level.
    • Corporate learning: Learning never ends. The IPEX Academy programme is aimed at all groups of employees. We see our evolving training catalogue as a breeding ground for ideas and success – both personally and professionally.
    • Staff development tools: We define the concept of development as individually as the associated goals and development paths of each individual person. Our toolbox includes a wide range of measures, from coaching and mentoring to rotation and scholarship schemes.
    • Works council: Successful human resource management is based on close and trusting cooperation between management and the works council in the interest of employees. We work hard to maintain this.

    What we plan to do in 2024

    A job is about more than just a place to work. Team spirit, a good working environment and scope for creativity are essential for employee satisfaction. The demands are growing – and that is a good thing which drives us forward. We want to:

    • Further increase our employer attractiveness: In addition to already established benefits (such as flexible working time models, an attractive remuneration system and company pension scheme), we would like to set new standards in the future with offerings such as bicycle leasing or remote working, including from other European countries, as well as transparent continued professional development opportunities and a framework designed to allow a better balance between the needs of work, life, family and care duties.
    • Embrace diversity: Equal treatment of all people is firmly embedded in our guidelines. Elements of this include increasing the proportion of women in management positions, promoting women as future managers and the goal of continuously increasing the number of employees with a disability. For us, equality goes beyond application of the German Remuneration Transparency Act (Entgelttransparenzgesetz, EntgTranspG).
    • Deliver health management for all: Here we focus on supporting the health of our employees in order to maintain and enhance motivation, job satisfaction and performance.
    • Improve pension provision: Through tailored saving solutions under the company pension scheme, employees can look forward to a good standard of living in their well-earned retirement and provide security for their families.

    Quality attested by awards and labels

    In 2023 we again underwent external reviews and evaluation processes. Various independent institutions and initiatives rated us as an employer. This gives us a sense of affirmation and, at the same time, strong motivation to continue on this path.

    Porträt von Ivonne Vornhusen

    We identify new requirements and define the bank as both a working and a living space. Our aim is to demonstrate and further enhance our attractiveness. We consider it fundamentally important to keep our employer offering consistently aligned with employees’ changing needs. Shaping the future: Let's do it.
